BEDA #19: Pior Semana do Ano

PORTUGUÊS | ENGLISH

Estou esgotada emocionalmente esta semana. Me perdoem. Bosta.

I am emotionally drained this week. Forgive me. I swear I am going to talk about it tomorrow. I just... I wish I could shut myself inside a butterfly's cocoon, without needing to talk to people. Damn it.

BEDA #13: I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll

PORTUGUÊS | ENGLISH

Ciao!
A minha maior preocupação é o piercing no septo.

Ciao!
Today the post is going to be small and straight to the point. I did an extern job in Perus, near Caieiras and I am destroyed. So… I know I am studying Law and working in a law firm and I am fully aware that appearance is everything in this field, but… I was thinking about doing a tattoo on my back and about putting a septum piercing!
I have always wanted to do those things (not to mention that I’d love to dye my hair blue again, but this is something I can’t hide, so it’s impossible for now), and as my mother is thinking about doing a tattoo as well, I decided to step up and go on. I don’t know when exactly I am going to do that, because I don’t know how much a quality work costs, but I am surely going to do it this year. I just need to find a clean and trustable place with quality work and experienced professionals.
Because c’mon, there isn’t something worse than wanting to put a septum piercing and ending up with a swollen and inflamed nose instead. I prefer to pay a little bit more to be sure that I will be satisfied with the result. I am not really worried about the tattoo because I can hide it easily, but I need to be sure everything will go well with my septum piercing.
I’ve read various articles assuring that, if I take good care of it, it won’t inflame or get swollen and I also read that I can hide it inside my nose on the first day already, so it wouldn’t be a problem to do it and go to work on the next day, for example. But I am still a little bit nervous. Imagine how my bosses would react if I show up with a swollen and inflamed nose because of a septum piercing right in the middle of my face? Hahaha I would need to find another place to work.
That’s all I wanted to say. I hope everything will go well! How about you guys? Do you have tattoos or a septum piercing? Do you have any advices?

Oh, and by the way, you’re obliged to help me find a trustable place to put that freaking piercing, Raula!

BEDA #10: Insônia

PORTUGUÊS | ENGLISH

Ciao!
Liguei o ventilador e me cobri no sofá.

Boo-bye! ♡

Ciao!
The second semester has finally started. But, since we are talking about my life, it is obvious that it wasn’t a day like all the others.
I prepared everything for the big day: my makeup was on the computer’s desk, my stationery was organized, I ironed my clothing and my room was clean. I went to bed around 2 AM, hoping to fall asleep in half an hour or so. Obviouly, it didn’t happen at all. The time was passing and all I could do was change positions, going from one side to another. Around 3:30 AM, I decided to try to sleep on the sofa, with my blankets. I turned the fan on and waited for it to happen. It didn’t happen, so I had the brilliant idea of reading boring and useless articles to sleep faster. It didn’t work either and I ended up learning how to create and preserve a collection of snowflakes, what do to in case of a bear attack and how to start studying urdu, thanks to WikiHow.
I can’t even describe my face when my phone interrupted one of my tutorials to inform that it was 5 AM and that I should wake up. I simply got up and woke up my brother. Two hours later, I was passing by the university gates. As many students gave up or reproved, they blended three different classes together, so there were many “new” students in our class.
The first class of the day was Fundamental Rights, in which the professor arrived half an hour late. I didn’t get anxious when he mentioned that we were going to study the Art. 5 of the Federal Constitution, because I kind of did that same fucking thing when I was in Tourism Management. The second class was Philosophy and, even if it was just an introduction, I already am crazy to study it (edit: oh boy, wasn't I wrong?). I felt tired, but I was being able to handle it.

I went to the work and ate my lunchbox. Later, when I finished all my tasks, my bosses said I was going to be all by myself for at least two hours. Two of them had to go earlier and one of them was going to be back only at 6 PM. Without hesitation, I waited for their car to disappear of my vision and I locked myself in the bathroom, right next to my workplace. My eyes were heavy and burning at each wink I gave. Yeah, that’s right. I took a nap of 30 minutes in the bathroom, huddled pathetically haha now that I am at home, laying on my bed while I write, I can only laugh. But I was seriously tired there and the bathroom saved me.

UPDATE: Ironically, on the same day I did that, Buzzfeed shared a snap that said: "When all else fails I can always catch a work nap in the bathroom". It was such a funny coincidence that I even took a screenshot to prove you that it really happened! haha

BEDA #8: Minha Primeira Vez

PORTUGUÊS | ENGLISH

Ciao!
Obediente, entrei novamente no elevador.
Boo-bye!

Ciao!
HAHA I couldn't resist using a ambiguous title (I swear I am a mature and responsible young adult sometimes). If you read yesterday's post, you probably know I am actually referring to my first appointment with the new psychologist. But anyway, let's get straight to the point!
My appointment was scheduled for 11 AM, so I left home one hour earlier. The clinic wasn't really near the subway station, so I had to walk quite a bit until I arrived. The building where the clinic was, had 12 floors and it had automatic gates and doors and the walls were covered with mirrored glass with tiny details in light green.
I signed my medical record and went right to the room where the appointment would be. A vibrant music was being played and, for one moment, I actually thought I was in the wrong place, for some reason.
As soon as I got there, the psychologist show up, smiling, and invited me in. She was nothing like I thought my psychologist would be. First, she was a woman, not a man (which is great, because I couldn't see myself opening up to a random guy I never saw before). Second, she wasn't wearing that white coat all doctors wear. Actually, she was wearing a white skirt that was contrasting to the colourful blouse she had on. She was chubby, with a ginger hair and was wearing a red lipstick as dark as mine, and before she could say anything I thought: "She's the right person, I must start my treatment with her". There was something in her voice tone and in the way she did things, that made me feel comfy. As soon as I sat on the couch, I said I didn't know from where I should start.
And well, that's okay, because it was actually her job to lead the conversation in order to extract the information she needed to treat me. The conversation was flowing very nice and I told her about my family, my close friends, my university classmates and my ex-boyfriends. Then we started talking about more serious subjects like, why I stopped studying Tourism Management, why I enjoy cutting and bruising myself and how I am used to deal with frustration, anger and sadness.
I just kept talking. No need to cry or to offer resistence. It was like if I was talking to a friend.
As soon as the time was over, she said that we would see each other every Saturday, at 11 AM. She explained it was just the first session and that I shouldn't stop the treatment. She also said she was going to make sure I was going to take medicine only if it was extremely necessary, because I don't want to get addicted to any pills.
Anyway, that was just the beginning and I am sure I will have a lot more to tell, because my classes will start on Monday and university equals to infinite stress and struggle, right?
You are just like my personal psychologists. When I don't go to the session, I cry on your shoulders hahaha
Well, that's it. See you tomorrow!

BEDA #7: Sofrendo por Antecipação

PORTUGUÊS | ENGLISH

Ciao!
Tchau, tchau!

Ciao!
I confess that I am anxious for tomorrow. I am going to see the psychologist (actually I don't even know if it will be a woman or a man, I just accepted to schedule the appointment on the only time available in his agenda) and, as I don't know him, I can't help but feel nervous. I am looking for the right person to start my treatment and confirm the diagnosis that the previous one gave me: depression and BPD.
The ideia of exposing my deepest feelings and thoughts with a complete stranger is quite challenging for me, so I tend to hide some information that I probably should share with him on the first sessions. I don't know if it's okay for me to act that way, but I can only open up when I feel that I can trust the person (which can take some time depending on how the person in question is). I can't stop thinking that he is going to judge me and think that I am just a little spoiled brat who wants attention, even if he's used to listen to troublesome (or lonely and depressed) people crying on his shoulder. I don't know why I think like that, but I just feel that he's going to despise me, while taking notes about how ridiculous I am.
I know, I know. This is not how real psychologists are. I don't even know him and I am here, already giving him a personality, characteristics, a face and a whole life. For those who are curious, that's how my mind works and that's how I create new characters... all of sudden!
I am probably not the only one who feels that way, but I always suffer in advance - whenever I am about to face a new situation, from a simple appointment to an international trip.
For sure I am going to share my experience with you tomorrow, so stay tuned and wish me luck! Boo-bye!

BEDA #6: Bloqueio Criativo

PORTUGUÊS | ENGLISH

Ciao!

Ciao!
I am having a kind of art block and it started to piss me off. I like to consider myself an artist, even if I don't work with art or even if I still have a lot to improve my drawing and writting skills. I just feel like an artist, living in my little and colorful world, full of troublesome characters and small stars up in my own sky.
I use my drawings and my texts as a way to (try to) show how I feel and how I see the world. But that art block isn't letting me do this and I am feeling extremely frustrated. I can't draw my ocs like I want to nor be able to make my readers feel what I want them to feel while reading my texts.
That's frustrating, but every art block needs to come to an end and, soon, I will be inspired, I think. Or at least I hope. For the sake of this project.

BEDA #5: Como Não Chamar Alguém Pra Sair

Ciao!

Apertei o botão "Enviar" no último minuto, literalmente.

Vou voltar pra minha cama confortável e quentinha.

ENGLISH

Ciao! Yesterday I almost wasn’t able to post on time. I literally pressed “send” on the last minute. Even if only my close friends read my blog, I worry about being able to complete de BEDA project successfully, because it’s a compromise I have assumed with Raula, with my blog and with the followers I have now and may have one day. I need to organize my routine, otherwise BEDA will end as soon as my university classes are back.
Well, as I promised, I am going to tell you about the funny thing that happened to me yesterday. I use various apps to chat with different people and, maybe, become friends with them. A few days ago, I met a girl that lives in Rio de Janeiro and has a beautiful and colorful hair. We share many common interests, but unfortunately, we are not able to go out because it’s not easy to go to Rio de Janeiro on a Tuesday afternoon, for example. Even if Rio is not that far from São Paulo, that kind of visit has to be planned in advance, otherwise it will be a huge disaster (aha, I knew Tourism Management would be useful for something). We were just chatting as always, when she suddenly asked me if I would be available on the beginning of September. I thought that maybe she was planning to come to São Paulo and I answered positively.
However, she invited me for a very unusual trip to another city so we could camp and do a walking of 21 kilometers.
Guys, can you imagine what kind of face I was making when I finished reading her text? I know it is an interesting trip and it must be lots of fun to go on that kind of adventure with your group of friends, but excluding all the other worrying reasons, the most important one was: 21 kilometers? Are you fucking with me? Because, in case you don’t know, I am the girl who gets tired while walks home. I am the girl who almost fainted when doing the exercising test (to check if my heart was ok and stuff). I am the girl who used to be member of groups like “Exercise? Does lifting my backpack counts”? There is no way I could possibly stop being a sedentary and walk 21 kilometers.
Of course I really want to see her one day, but I really hope to meet her in a shopping mall or a museum hahaha Oh, did I mention that I would need to carry my own tent and my own backpack with the necessary equipment while hoping that no quatis would attack my stuff? I feel exhausted just by having that mere thought.
Lesson of the day: Before going on an adventure, check if your friends are physically and financially prepared to go with you.
Boo-bye, I am going back to my warm and comfy bed now.

BEDA #2: Corre que é Treta!

PORTUGUÊS

Ciao!

Raula estava apenas me ajudar, e eu estava irritada e magoada com as coisas que ela estava me dizendo.

Ciao!

Today I am going to tell you about my brief (and almost disastrous) meeting with my best friend, Raula. It has been two months since I last saw her, and she contacted me all of sudden, asking me if I'd like to go out with her. Without hesitation, I obviously said yes, and we decided to meet up at the Trianon MASP subway station (I live in São Paulo, Brasil, in case you're curious). As always, we arrived at the station one hour after the scheduled time and I convinced her to go to Starbucks (I am addicted to their hot white chocolate). There, I treated her a hot chocolate as well and we spend our time chit chatting.
We started to disagree on some topics, specially the ones that had something to do with my mood and my desire to stay alive (depression and BPD got me). Now that I think about that situation, I can see that she was right. I do need to go out more often, meet new people and do things that I consider enjoyable and funny. But, at that moment, all I could feel was anger and I just wanted her to understand my point of view. BPD is something really recent in my life and not everybody knows that I have it, so it's really hard to understand and deal with everything that I feel.
Raula was just trying to help me and I was angry and frustrated with what she was saying. I told her about how my feeling were being a huge influence in my behaviour and the conversation became a cycle in which I told her my problems, while she tried to find solutions for them.
In the middle of the conversation, she invited me to create a blog and to start the BEDA project - and as you can see, I agreed. After all, writting is something that really relieves me and, if she was going to be serious about it, I was in too.
Our meeting was really brief, only a few hours before her classes started (Raula is studying Tourism Management, but she's been studying to be a teacher someday, which is awesome), and we started to walk. She had to go to her classes, and I planned to visit the nearest bookstore. I wanted to spend more time with her, but it was in vain. I was still feeling angry and frustrated, but I didn't know why anymore.
We kept walking in silence, without even looking to each other. And, suddenly, I stopped. I simply stopped walking. I stopped and I kept looking at her silhouette slowly dissapearing, not aware of what was happening. Tears started to come out, and my vision got blurry. I sit at the bus stop, wishing I didn't get out of my room that morning. As so as she noticed I was gone, she sent me a text, angry. We started to argue, but when her classes started, the messages stopped coming. I went to the bookstore and spent my money on a Belgian comic. Later, I regreted this, because I should be saving money instead of spending it with stuff I can't really buy now.
When I arrived home, I got locked in my room and I felt asleep. I had no dreams, I only let my feelings go away. The time was passing by, and I started thinking about how I was going to apologize. Fortunately, we are unable to stay mad at each other for a long time, and at night, we were okay once again. I hate having BPD, but at least I have stories to tell, thanks to her. By the way, I have the habit of giving genders to my problems (?) Both BPD and depression are females. At least in my point of view. It has always been like that.
Anyway, yesterday was an awful day, but I guess those problems always make our friendship stronger, somehow. They make us see how we care about each other and how we will always be honest with each other, even if it make us argue a lot.
And, above everything, it made me notice that she is never going to give up on me, no matter if I want that or not.

Thank you for not giving up, even when I already did.

x

P.S.: I am sorry if I sounded confusing while sharing this situation with you, but it usually happens when I have too much to say or write.

Blog Every Day August

PORTUGUÊS

Ciao!

ENGLISH

Ciao!
Introductions are always awkward for me, so I decided to skip that part. I think it's more interesting and natural to know each other as time passes. I've created this blog with my best friend's incentive (her name is Raula and she owns the blog Eterna Sonhadora) and I intend to write about my daily life, about the things I like and dislike and maybe (just maybe!) find a reason behind my attitudes. I know it may be too much for a simple blog, but I want to make it work.

And to prove that I am serious about it, I am going to take part on BEDA (Blog Every Day August), which means I am going to post everyday, starting today! I hope to have fun writting and I hope other people will join me. With that said, I am off to bed! See you tomorrow! x
